Fort Mill Real Estate

The Town of Fort Mill is located along the northernmost part of South Carolina and is one of the fastest growing communities in the state. The Fort Mill schools are among the most excellent in the state and perform well above national standards. Fort Mill is home to a number of successful businesses and corporate offices as well as vast green spaces and a variety of recreational areas.

In 1887 Fort Mill became a major textile manufacturing hub, when Fort Mill Manufacturing Company (later called Springs Industries) was founded. In 2006, Springs Industries merged with a Brazilian manufacturer and moved their headquarters to Brazil. However, Springs Global still sustains a corporate presence in Fort Mill. The region’s economy has continued to expand and diversify even though textiles are no longer the main industry in Fort Mill. Today, the Fort Mill Township is home to major employers such as Black and Decker, Comporium, Daimler Trucks North America, Muzak, One Main Financial, URS and Wells Fargo, as well as many other locally owned businesses.

Fort Mill is an extremely active community and offers several recreational options, including kayaking, mountain biking, and even horseback riding. The Town of Fort Mill has many parks, recreation facilities and green spaces. These facilities are Harris Street Park, Steele Street Park, Confederate Park, Doby Bridge Park, Calhoun Street Park, Walter Elisha Park, and the Spratt Building. In 1995, the Anne Springs Close Greenway, a large nature preserve was dedicated to the public to serve as a natural buffer from urban development and a place for countless activities – from hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, to picnics, kayaking and more.
